By the end of this class, we will have a completed animation and also will know how to export the movie file to share with our audience. Ever wanted to play with 3D, be your own VJ or work with interactive sound?
In this Skillshare class, we will be playing with the magic of geometry, color and sound by learning how to make our own video content with interactive geometric visuals.
- Students will give their first steps into the world of content creation by learning how to create a simple geometric project in Touch Designer.
- For the project, students will create a simple geometry rendering, create a camera view, assign color to the geometry and its background, and add animation that reacts to sound they can simply import or generate through their computer’s microphone input.
- Students will learn how to visually program their projects by selecting 3D shapes to use in rendering, connecting component boxes in Touch Designer and changing parameter variables of their components.
- Students will learn how to connect their microphone or import an audio file to animate their graphics and record their own video content, set the resolution for their projects and export your video to share with the world.
This class is for anyone who wants to play with 3D, color, and interactive sound, but also for anyone who wants to use sound in conjunction with graphics as a creative way to generate their own content.
Note: This is a begginer level course, and therefore, no previous programming knowledge is required.
For this project, you can post the ideas or sketches for the video by following the Sources of Inspiration and Sketching a base Idea lessons proposals to experiment with ideas of the combination of specific shapes and a range of colors, and of course if you need, ask for feedback. After you create our own visual poetry project, you can share your personal class project video through a link (for example you can upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo and share the video’s url).
