I would like to welcome you to this course where we’ll take a look at useful video shooting tips and techniques
We’ll see what the fundamentals of video shooting are and take a look at practical examples, and then we’ll dive into specific techniques such as angle shots – which are perfect angles for signaling superiority or to elicit feelings of fear and dread, tight shots – an eye level shot can result in a neutral perspective (not superior or inferior). This mimics how we see people in real life — our eye line connecting with theirs, and it can break down boundaries.
We’ll also look into low angle shots, which frame the subject from below their eyeline. These camera shots most often emphasize power dynamics between characters — a low angle shot on one character is often paired with a high angle shot on the other character.
Then we’ll go into cutaways – which are shots that “cut away” from the main action to any shot that adds visual information, and then returns to the original shot with new meaning, pans & zooms and how to use them correctly and in context, and so much more!
By the end of this course you’ll know how to shoot video in a cinematic way, and you’ll be familiar with various video recording techniques, so I look forward to see you on the inside
