Description

Hello, Welcome to my quantitative chemistry GCSE/IGCSE course.
My name is Kat, and I completed my degree in Biochemistry at Imperial College London. After my degree, I have been both a scientist and a tutor. Teaching has always been my passion, I have 7 years of tutoring experience as of now, I have helped many students achieved A*/ 9 in GCSE/iGCSE chemistry.
The reason I want to make this course is that I found a lot of my students struggle with quantitative chemistry at this level, which hinders them from achieving the top grades. Over the years I have developed ways to train my students to be good at this topic and in chemistry overall, and I cannot wait to share my knowledge with you.
I love using analogy to make complex concepts simple. I understand that no one loves memorising a lot of things, so my job is to minimise the things that you have to memorise and really enhance your understanding of the topics.
In this course we will go over the following concepts:
These will be on screen:
Relative Atomic Mass (Ar)
Relative Formula Mass (Mr)
Moles
Percentage mass of an element in a compound
Conservation of mass
Gases volume
Limiting reactant
Reacting masses Equations
Concentration
Atom Economy
Percentage Yield

For each topic, I will go through the concepts and feed you with a lot of questions with various difficulty level and of course explain the answers to ensure that you fully grasp the concept.
At the end of the course, I have also compiled some exam questions, so you guys can get familiarised with them!
If you are struggling with concepts such as moles or percentage yield anything like that
Or if you would like a refresher on the quantitative part of iGCSE/GCSE chemistry, this course will be for you.
I cannot wait to teach you all the little tricks to help you achieve the best that you can!
Thanks so much for joining me, and I do hope that you will click the enrol button and hope to see you in the course.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.

Scientist/professional tutor graduated from Imperial College
My name is Kat, I am a scientist specialised in genes and genomics. I completed my BSc Biochemistry at Imperial College London. I have a wide range of hobbies which include music and art. My indulgence in my hobbies, however, did not prevent me from distinguishing myself academically. I want my students to understand and learn in an efficient albeit enjoyable way.Biology, Chemistry, MathsI enjoy teaching and have been a tutor for 7 years. I teach Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I care about students, and I wish that they could learn to love Science and Maths as I do. To achieve the high goals I set for my students, I require the cooperation of the student and a change in attitude. I believe that everyone is capable of getting an 9/A* in any subject, as long as they are dedicated to achieving that goal.  I put emphasis on encouraging students, cultivating their natural interest and understanding of the subjects they chose to take. I have found this approach to be more effective in building confidence in students, motivating them, and in realizing their full potential – all of which are key to exam success.I am very experienced in boosting exam grades and there are numerous success stories, some of which are as follows:1. I helped a student who had a predicted B to achieve an A* in GCSE Biology within 2 months (By providing guidance on how to revise efficiently and on improving exam techniques).2. I helped a student with a predicted C grade to achieve an A* in GCSE biology within 3 months (Through creating a revision plan which takes account of the human memory curve, and by enhancing understanding and exam techniques).3. I helped a student with a predicted C grade to achieve an A in GCSE Maths in 6 months (Through enhancing understanding and adjusting revision habits)4. I helped a top GCSE chemistry student to achieve near full marks within 2 weeks (Through identifying weaknesses in handling exam questions).
