Description

Sass is a CSS pre-processor that saves time, and allows you to write better quality code. In Step by Step Sass, you’ll learn how to use this powerful tool in easy 5-10 minute steps.

You don’t need to understand every concept of Sass to use it—once you get past the installation and set up, you can start using it right away.

Coding your CSS with Sass saves you time—and allows you to write neater, more consistent code. The time you’ll spend completing this course will be easily made up on your next web project!

You will learn

In this course I teach you how to convert an existing website to using Sass, because that is a simple way to get used to using Sass while learning how it works. I am using a Demo design website that you can use, or you can try doing the work with any website of your choosing. The Demo site we are using in the course is not fully functional but provides enough CSS that it will allow you try all the concepts we learn in the class. Please note, this course was filmed a few years ago so some of the CSS techniques are dated, but the Sass techniques I’m teaching are all relevant and current.

If you would like to follow along you can grab the starting code here:

If you are familiar with Git and Github you can clone the full course repo from  here:   Each step/video in the course has it’s own tag, so you can check your code along the way if you run in to any problems.

During the Extend and Mixin lessons I am using some different code to demonstrate the concepts. I have attached two tiny demo zip files that you can download and use if you would like to follow along.

Throughout the course I may mention a few links to be found in the project notes. I am giving you all the links below.
