Table of contents

This drumming course will help you get started playing the drums or sharpen your skills if you are already drumming.
Starting with how to hold your sticks, to the different feet techniques ending with understanding subdivisions and time signatures, all accompanied with useful practical exercises.
The 12 prerecorded lessons are divided into three sections.
A theory section for understanding the inner workings of music.
A technique section for getting the most out of you and the drum set without hurting yourself.
And a practice section to train the drumming muscles.
By visually explaining how to move, it will take a minimum of effort to either play your first drum beat or improve your drumming to perfection. Drum teacher
I started taking drum lessons at the age of 12. The first time I was sitting behind the drum set was during my first private lesson and I could ply a simple drumbeat and fill from the get-go. I was bitten by the drum bug since then.

During the forty years of playing the drums, I have: learned to play guitar, bass guitar, and keyboard. Composed music. Played in six bands. Build and run a recording studio. Recorded an album. Had several one-time gigs. Played in over 300 jam sessions.

I stayed six years with my second teacher He was a conservatory graduate and played on TV shows. He allowed me to take over his waiting list of young students. I gave drum lessons for 4 years under his name until he passed. After that, I continued teaching drums under my name. At least one of my students has been accepted at the conservatory in the Netherlands.

I like to call myself a drum nerd because I want to know everything about the drumset. The history, the materials, the engineering, tuning, and what type of wood the sticks are made of, are all interesting to me.

My teaching is based on the discovery that drumming is not so hard if you understand exactly what is going on. I don’t hold back on the tricks of making drumming easy to do. Developing de ability to read sheet music is also part of that.
