Spanish Legal Terminology Workshop for Lawyers

The Legal Terminology Workshop is a Certificate Program that will prepare legal professionals, including lawyers, investigators, legal secretaries, and paralegals to communicate clearly and effectively with Spanish-speaking colleagues and clients and their families. This online workshop is a series of video sessions taught in Spanish and English and depending upon the level of proficiency of the participants, can include vocabulary from a variety of legal fields, including not only criminal and civil terms used in Colorado State Courts, but also juvenile law vocabulary,  Federal Court terms, plus a discussion of the Immigration Court process, depending on the interest and areas of specialization of the participants.  In addition, we will discuss cultural matters which impact legal concepts and understanding.
Additionally, an important part of the workshop is a PowerPoint which can be printed out and referenced at the participant’s leisure in order to create office study sessions after finishing the workshop. This will help to strengthen your team of current lawyers and prepare new lawyers and legal assistants for the challenges of working in another language.
The goal of this Bilingual Spanish Legal Terminology Workshop is to provide innovative Spanish language instruction for busy professionals who do not have the additional time during the week to be enrolled in a full academic program but need to keep their legal language skills sharp and knowledge updated.
