Description

You have no prior experience in painting, but would like to get started? Then, this is the class you are looking for!!

In this class, I will show you how to paint beautiful seascapes using Acrylic colors. I have included a lot of tips and tricks that would help you to get started. This class is perfect for anyone who likes to begin his/her journey in acrylics and also for those who knows the basics, but want to experiment more. Acrylics might seem challenging, since it dries too fast. But, it just takes a little bit of practice. That’s it!

In the class,

  1. I start off with the supplies you’ll need;
  2. I’ll teach you the basics of painting waters. We will do a quick “2-minutes” exercise to help the beginners.
  3. We will discuss how to paint a seascape by observing a reference.
  4. Then you’ll be painting with me 2 fun projects- Top-view and Front-view.
  5. The class will cover clouds, waters, waves and much more 🙂

This is absolutely a fun class!

Materials:

  • Canvas Board (size 8*10 inches) [But any surface would be fine- Acrylic painting paper, wood ]
  • Paints (Scroll down for colors)[I used Camlin Kokuyo and W&N acrylic paints. You can use any good brand]
  • Painting brushes
  • Waste cloth
  • Water Jar
  • Palette
  • Masking Tape (Optional)

Colors:

  • White
  • Phthalo Blue
  • Cobalt Teal
  • Burnt Umber
  • Yello Ochre
  • Permanent Green Light

Paint Brushes

  • Flat Brush – 18, 2
  • Angle Brush – 16, 10
  • Hog Bristle Flat Brush (Medium size)
  • Deerfoot -8

You will learn

Your Class project will be to try out the techniques we discussed in the class. Only regular practice will make you a better artist.

  • Practice the “Quick 2-minutes waters”  we discussed in the class.
  • Grab a nice reference photo and observe your reference.
  • Paint your own seascape by incorporating the techniques we discussed.

Every Seascape will be slightly different depending on the conditions, so you need to observe all the elements and try not to make assumptions.

The sky’s the limit. Explore! Also, please do share your projects. I would love to see them :)

Do share your feedback. That’ll help me make better classes in the future :)

Bye. Happy Painting!
