•This course will cover the origin and mission of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and how it has changed the landscape of employee safety at the workplace from 1970 to the present day.
•We will discuss OSHA inspection priorities and the inspection process from beginning to end including the opening conference, the walkaround, the closing conference, and finally the notification of penalties and citations.
•An updated list of the current OSHA penalties and citations.
•Next, we will take a look at the penalty phase of an OSHA inspection and the options an employer has.
•On jobsites with multiple employers and/or contractors, the multi employer citation policy plays a major role when it comes time for an OSHA Compliance Officer to issue citations. We will look at an example of a real life scenario that I was involved in on a commercial project with multiple contractors and an OSHA inspection.
•We will examine the 2 step process including the employer designations an OSHA compliance officer would use in determining possible citations during an inspection. This will include (creating, correcting, controlling, and exposing employer) designations.
•I will go over real life examples and scenarios of safety hazards and OSHA inspections I have been involved in over the last 23 years.
