Description

In this course you’ll learn how to make your own reusable button component using Vus js and CSS

Buttons are used regularly throughout applications and generally need to be at least consistent in styling and be easy for you as a developer to create. So in this course we’ll go through just that – firstly we’ll make our button accept text via slots and reusable anywhere in our app. Next we’ll move onto styling and finally we’ll add an optional prepended icon.

Although making a button is not the most exciting component to start with, it really will give you the basics of making reusable components in Vue. Once you’ve learnt all this, you can apply it to a variety of your own more complex and custom components.

In this course we’ll be working with the following free resources to our project off the ground, as discussed in the setup video:

This course requires you to have a basic understanding of Vue and CSS.

You will learn

For your project, I’d like you to make your own reusable component using the methods outlined in the course. There are two to pick from (Or you can do both):

Info / alert panel – So this is a styled box with maybe an icon highlighting to the user an important piece of information or update to your application. Have 3 / 4 styles with varying icons and colours depending on a ‘type’ prop that could be – warning, success, info or error.

Page title – A styled and consistent page title is a component you could be reaching for a lot. Make a reusable one which accepts a title and subtitle and title as props, then a button through a slot.

Alternatively if you have your own idea for a component you’d like to make that’s fine, you crack on! Just make sure it can be used and customised anywhere in your application.
