Description

Explore an introduction to the exciting and growing field of User Experience (UX). In this 35-minute class, you will learn the skills needed for UX research, understand how researchers discover and assess user needs and how to conduct a test.

The class consists of 15 informative videos. In each one, I am sharing my passion and knowledge for UX. I will provide you with the examples, definitions, basic methods, and concepts that every UX designer should be familiar with.

This class is for everyone who wants to grow in the field of UX Research and Design. No prior knowledge or experience required! By the end, you’ll have everything you need to conduct a research and make sense of the results.

You will learn

1st assignment: [Videos 1-6]

Give one example of a good and one example of a bad user interface design. You are free to choose between computers software, websites and mobile applications.

Please describe a particular feature you liked or not and explain your process for evaluating it as good or bad. Begin with a screenshot (or describe the interface) and then be specific about:

  • Your goal using the interface / Did you achieve it?
  • The features of the interface made it easy or difficult to perform the action

After you finished the assignment please upload it on the class Project Gallery in that way your peers and I can review it.

2nd assignment: [Videos 7-14]

Choose one bad interface (you can choose the same as in the 1st assignment) and recruit one person (who has not use the software, website or mobile application before). Create two tasks based and test the tasks with your user. You can use the “talk aloud” or any other method.

What did you learn from conducting the research?

Note:

  • The participation is voluntary.
  • The test should be conducted preferably using the participants’ own laptop or desktop computer.

After you finished the assignment please upload it on the class Project Gallery in that way your peers and I can review it.

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

Remember it is very important to complete and upload the assignments, in this way you are not only helping yourself to improve but also help others. As a UX designer, you will be asked to conduct research, support your opinion based on facts, review existing interfaces and give feedback.
