Description

Learn Guitar: Go from complete beginner to guitar fingerpicking in 30 Days
Hi – my name is Patrick and welcome to my course – intermediate acoustic guitar fingerpicking in 30 days. I have being fingerpicking guitar for 20 years and I have taught dozens of students to go from never having picked up a guitar before to being really accomplished players.  Over 7000 students have taken my beginner fingerpicking course on Udemy that has a 4.6 star rating.

This course takes it to the next level.
I suggest you watch the previews of this course – there is one for every section where I show you what you will be able to play at the end of each section if you follow the lessons through in that section.

It’s my goal to teach you the techniques you need to grow as a musician. It’s important to learn songs of the artists that you love, but it’s also important to learn the thinking and thought process behind what they are doing. This course breaks down for you how to get to the next level of being a fingerpicking musician – scales, melodies, bass lines, articulation, hammer-ons, pull-offs, muting, chord flicks, the boom-chuck pattern and more. With these in your arsenal, when we learn pieces in this course, we know the building blocks of how these songs were constructed. We know how to think about the piece as much as play it.

When you want to learn the guitar, it matters hugely which course and teacher you pick. The cost of getting this wrong isn’t that you lose out on $30-50, it is that the teaching may not stick for you and you may end up with a life where you never learn guitar, rather a life where picking up the guitar is a huge joy and pleasure for you, whether just on your own or playing with other musicians.  That’s why I give you all the materials you need to both learn and enjoy the process of developing your fingerpicking. I want you to learn skills you will use musically for years to come.

At the end of my course, students will be able to…
•play bass patterns over the most common chords
•play scales
•understand how to construct melodies
•learn the fundamentals of reading rhythm
•weave hammer-ons and pull-offs into your melody lines
•develop a completely independent left and right hand
•play the boom-chuck pattern
•play several advanced fingerpicking pieces
•learn how to fingerpick a 12-bar blues in E

What materials will come with this course?
Each lesson has a HD video with three camera angles (full, left hand and right hand) so that you can zone in and see what each hand is doing. Each lesson also comes with a downloadable PDF and the relevant music tablature for each lesson.

Who should take this course?
This course is ideal for students who can play a few chords and perhaps have done a small bit of fingerpicking on an acoustic guitar previously.
The course is a natural follow-on from my first course – From Zero to Guitar Fingerpicking in 30 days.

Who should not?
If you have never played a guitar or cannot play a chord on guitar, try instead my other course – – From Zero to Guitar Fingerpicking in 30 days.

Guitar Instructor
My name is Patrick O’Malley. I have been giving guitar lessons for over 25 years and about ten years ago, I started teaching all my new students to fingerpick from lesson one. I noticed that the students who started this way almost always stuck with the instrument and kept returning for more lessons. I also noticed that they were far more musical and creative from an early stage, in comparison to students who began with chords, scales and theory. I still meet and play with many of them to this very day.

Believe it or not, I was very good at maths when I was younger and to make extra money I would give maths lessons to kids (teenagers) when I was in college. I always noticed one thing about maths – wherever anyone was stuck, they were always missing a key building block that was necessary. In my guitar teaching, I have over the years observed what common building blocks students are missing to understand what is required to play guitar and indeed fingerpicking, so I’m confident that the way everything is presented here is going to give students what they need to get competent and hopefully continue learning far beyond that.
