Detailed Analysis

CourseMarks Score®

8.9 / 10

CourseMarks Score® helps students to find the best classes. We aggregate 18 factors, including freshness, student feedback and content diversity.

Freshness Score

10.0 / 10
This course was last updated on 4/2021.

Course content can become outdated quite quickly. After analysing 71,530 courses, we found that the highest rated courses are updated every year. If a course has not been updated for more than 2 years, you should carefully evaluate the course before enrolling.

Student Feedback

We analyzed factors such as the rating (0.0/5) and the ratio between the number of reviews and the number of students, which is a great signal of student commitment.

New courses are hard to evaluate because there are no or just a few student ratings, but Student Feedback Score helps you find great courses even with fewer reviews.

Content Score

7.3 / 10
Video Score: 7.8 / 10
The course includes 1h 31m video content. Courses with more videos usually have a higher average rating. We have found that the sweet spot is 16 hours of video, which is long enough to teach a topic comprehensively, but not overwhelming. Courses over 16 hours of video gets the maximum score.
Detail Score: 8.6 / 10

The top online course contains a detailed description of the course, what you will learn and also a detailed description about the instructor.

Table of contents

Description

In the following 18 Episodes of this Introductory Course I would like to introduce you to all the basic concepts dealt with at schools today. Wherever it seems convenient the drawings are animated. So it should be much easier for you to understand the contents, that is the construction of figures, the connections between them and the theorems, for instance that of Pythagoras !
The Course is divided into 3 Parts :
Part 1, Basic Geometry, consisting of Episodes 1 to 5, deals with the elements as there are: lines, line segments, angles and circles. We will start, however, with bodies that we face in our environment, look at their surfaces and discover that their boundary figures often consist of rectangles, special triangles and polygons. Then we will study some important locus lines and take a 1st glance at the symmetry of figures.
Part 2, Intermediate Geometry, Episodes 6 to 11, explores, roughly speaking, all sorts of triangles, quadrilaterals and special polygons, shows how to construct them including their special lines and points and by means of the tools of Congruence and conversion we will calculate their areas, too, furthermore we will get to know the Translation (shift, slide, glide) as a double Reflection – while
Part 3, Advanced Geometry, Episodes 12 to 18, studies the similarity of figures and discusses the theorem of Pythagoras including its applications. Circles with their parts and all round solids (cylinders, cones, spheres) will be the focus next. Eventually we will take first steps into the field of Trigonometry, where we can calculate with angles in right triangles and in special quadrilaterals; in order to do this we get to know the sine, cosine and tangent functions.
The same is true for the Continuation Course with deepening and hopefully engrossing tutorials for those who like this way of practicing Geometry: every Episode has the same number as the previous lecture in this Introductory Course: so Ep. 1 of the CC follows Ep. 1 of the IC and broadens your knowledge of this topic and so on until Ep. 18.
