Description

In This lecture you will learn about he definition of low magic and how it was used to dismisses perceived lower classes.   Become informed about the  development of Natural Magic though the history of astrology and botanical medicine.   Discover some of the interesting  quirks of British culture in with the colourful stories int heir folklore.  Uncover the roots of the hidden folk in history and  learn about the fairy and their ilk.  And in the final section pull the lecture all together with a case study of one of the most famous witches in the world  Isobel Gowdie.

From Williamstown Ontario R.A. Priddle is a special collection librarian and historian of magic, religion, and science.  He earned his Masters of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Ottawa and his Masters of Information from the University of Toronto concurrently in 2013. Robert has traveled Europe and North America studying and speaking about magic and is delighted to return home to Canada to share his experience and expertise in the ubiquitous but little understood technology of magic.
