Brazilian drummer, born in Tapera, Rio Grande do Sul, began his career at the age of thirteen years old, playing in dance bands in the south Brazil.
Initially self-taught, had his first contact with the formal study of the drumset in 1996, studying with the argentinian drummer Pato Romero in Curitiba, Brazil, and later start the studies with Kiko Freitas, for 5 years.
After this period, he assumed the condition of freelance musician, playing in several eclectic works and repertoires, but concentrating on MPB (Brazilian Popular Music).
With a residence established in Curitiba, travels around the country playing in the circuit of bars and Jazz Clubs of Bossa Nova, Samba, Samba Jazz and MPB.
In 1997 back to Rio Grande do Sul, for the band Itamone, from Caxias do Sul, a group specialized in weddings, and various social events.
In the same period star his first experience in the world of instrumental music, with the group Pimenta do Reino.
After the presentation of several regional shows, Pimenta do Reino had the opportunity to perform in Europe. Together with two musicians from Pimenta do Reino, Paulinho Cardoso (accordion) and Richard Ferrarini (sax), he landed in Europe for the first time, to play in European Jazz Clubs.
Because of this experience, he received a proposal to take up residence in Italy and in 2002, he moved to the city of Florence.
In Florence, he play with various artists, including the group Xipaquira (Drum and Bass and Fusion) with Gialuca Venier and Krishna Biswas, Trio Gooool (Jazz and MPB) with Simone Martelli and Tommaso Montagnani.
Record with Brazilian artists residing in Italy, such as Edinho Queiros and Ligia Franca, Joca Costa, Marquinhos Siqueira, Rodrigo Amaral, Luiz Bokanha and Marcio Lopes.
He taught in music schools in Florence, such as Il Trillo, and did workshops and clinics around the Italy.
He also develop his drum teaching method, “Sviluppando Il Drumming Con I Ritmi Brasiliani” (Developing The Drumming with Brazilian Rhythms), a method that explores Brazilian rhythms as a basis for better drum performance, used for classes and workshops.
Back in Brazil, he collaborates with Pimenta do Reino’s ex-partner, Leo Ferrarini’s pianist, in the Leo Ferrarini Trio, recording his first solo album.
In the didactic scene, in addition to private lessons and in school, he was part of Music School Online, the first Brazilian online drum platform.
Later he joins, for the first time a rock band, Santograau, with whom he recorded his DVD.
In 2007 he moved to Rio de Janeiro to dedicate his attention to the Bossa Nova and Samba Jazz, in Rio play and record with Gloria Ettari and Quartettari, Daniel Rion Trio, Vika Barcellos and Fernando Corona, Edinho Queirós, Flavio Trino, Ney Conceição, Hamleto Stamato.
Later moving to São Paulo he join the band of the famous duo country, Marcos e Belutti, where he stayed for 5 years, recording discs and the highly successful DVD “Sem Me Controlar Ao Vivo” (Som Livre).
Always acting in the instrumental scene, record the CD Vertical of the group InBloco, which had Walmer Carvalho, Pedro Ivo Ferreira and Thiago Melo.
In 2013 he establishes residence in Pato Branco, where he play with the duo of South Brazilian regional music, Oswaldir and Carlos Magrão, plays with the Orquestra Sanfonica (is a 20 Accordions Orchestra) of Pato Branco with whom he recorded the CD Releitura, he also worked as a musician, producer and arranger in several studios, records CDs and DVDs for all Brazil, in his own studio where he also taught.
He returns to Italy in 2016 to conclude the Music University in Jazz Drums at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini di Firenze, where he graduated with the highest score.
He played numerous Italian and multi-ethnic musical projects, such as with Eka Project, Simone Dellisanti, Mariane Reis, Aroldo Machado and Fabio Balzano.
In addition to leading his own trio called MARCINHO PEREIRA Brazilian Jazz Trio, who propose a journey through Brazilian rhythms adapted to the drums and the Jazz language.
In 2019 he moved to London, where he currently resides and collaborate with Mario Bakuna, Sam Watts, Josue Ferreira and Matheus Nova.
