I am a highly trained, knowledgeable, and educated College English and Reading Instructor, Educational Leader, Curriculum Designer, Writer, Researcher, and Tutor/Mentor. I have 12.5 years’ experience in Adult Education teaching at the local community college. I have worked in the education field for 25 years. I taught pre-school, I was a paraprofessional working with school aged students, and I was a substitute teacher at the local public school district for 2.5 years.
I possess a Doctorate degree in Adult Education Leadership from a regionally accredited university. I also possess a Bachelors’ degree in English, a Masters’ degree in Adult Education with an emphasis on E-learning Design Technology and Curriculum Instruction, and I completed 30 graduate level credits in Secondary Literacy Education with Licensure.
I possess the required knowledge of online delivery methods, principles, and techniques. I acquired these skills through my graduate level courses in both the Masters’ Degree in Secondary Education and the Masters’ Degree in Adult Education. As an instructor for 12.5 years, I developed teaching methods and a performance development plan, which included attending teaching in-service training workshops and conferences.
I possess advanced skills related to research, writing, instruction, student and program assessment, curriculum design, mentoring, tutoring, time management, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and curriculum designed for career development and professionalism. I am adept in excellent written and verbal communication, proficient organization skills, and analytical skills. Moreover, my on-the-job experience and graduate level coursework provided me with a well-rounded skill set including, first-rate leadership abilities, computer program skills, and collaboration.
My former colleagues and instructors can verify my extensive knowledge in higher education, my leadership capabilities, and my knowledge of instructing, research and curriculum design. I served as a member of the Adjunct Task Force Committee, Student Assessment Committee, and I was a member of the TriO Program Assessment Project.
