In order to address the needs of the modern network, Cisco launched the DevNet Associate Exam v1.0. Passing this exam proves your skills in developing and maintaining applications built on Cisco platforms.
This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of software development and design including understanding and using APIs, Cisco platforms and development, application development and security, and infrastructure and automation. The course, Developing Applications and Automating Workflows Using Cisco Core Platforms, helps candidates to prepare for this exam.
We’ve broken down the exams into the six syllabus topics, each having 50 exam-style questions. These test prepare you for the types of questions you will face in the exam but they are also a valuable study tool.
•Software Development and Design (50 questions)
•Understanding and Using APIs (50 questions)
•Cisco Platforms and Development (50 questions)
•Application Deployment and Security (50 questions)
•Infrastructure and Automation (50 questions)
•Network Fundamentals (50 questions)
Each exam covers all the topics within that syllabus item. The Infrastructure and Automation module, for example, covers device-level management, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, RESTCONF or NETCONF queries, YANG models and more.
The DEVASC 200-90 exam costs $400 to sit and the average first time pass rates are well under 50%. For this reason you must prepare by using a quality study guide, doing hands-on labs and taking a lot of practice exams. This is where we come in. You need to getting 95% or higher in EVERY exam before you take the real one.
The exams were written by CCIE Jay Ocampo who designs and supports large Data Centers. Jay also creates video training for the online certification training company howtonetwork.

Cisco Engineer and Internet Entrepreneur
I worked in the police in the UK for 12 years as a patrol officer and detective. While I was in the job I helped teach the new e-mail system to other officers. I took a few IT exams and then left for a career in IT in June 2000.
I took a few more exams with vendors such as Cisco and Microsoft and got a job working for Cisco for two years. I then started an IT training company teaching Cisco and computer networking courses. I built the business until it had several offices in the UK and then sold it.
I now run a publishing business and several websites teaching IT related subjects. I’ve learned how to build a successful company and how to make it in the world of IT. I hope what I’ve learned helps you too.
