Jeffrey S. Morton is Professor of International Relations and a Fellow at the Foreign Policy Association in New York City. Dr. Morton began his college studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he majored in Political Science. He received his Master’s degree from Rutgers University in 1991, specializing in the causes of war. Professor Morton completed his Ph. D. at the University of South Carolina in 1995, where he specialized in international law with a concentration in U.S. foreign policy. Additionally, Dr. Morton completed the International Law Commission Summer Training Program at the European Headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
The author of three books, numerous journal articles and book chapters, Professor Morton has published on issues ranging from the legality of interventions and weapons of war to the United Nations, Israeli security and U.S. foreign policy. Dr. Morton has lectured nationally and internationally on matters relating to U.S. foreign policy.
In 2012, Dr. Morton was awarded the prestigious Foreign Policy Association Medal.
Born and raised in North Carolina, Jeffrey Morton is married to Florence, a native of France.
